Jannet Wharton founded Ventura Training Institute (VTI) in 2009, pursuing a vision that was over 30 years in the making. When she immigrated from South America to the United States in the 1980s, she faced many challenges. Initially, she worked odd jobs to support herself and her family, but it wasn’t until she stumbled into a job as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) that she found her calling: Nursing. She worked years as a CNA to pay for her education; but never once lost sight of her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse (RN). Eventually, her hard work paid off and she received her degree and RN license from Ventura College.
Now, with over 30 years of experience as a RN in the medical field, Jannet founded Ventura Training Institute to help others achieve their goals. She opened Ventura Training Institute, a non-profit, vocational training provider to help people start the journey to realize their own dreams of a rewarding career in the medical field. Through VTI, she hopes to continually inspire students to believe in themselves and the endless possibilities and rewards that the medical field can offer.
